As we embrace the month of November, the Brocton Central School District is excited to announce that it is recognized as College and Career Development Month. This is an invaluable time for our students to explore their future pathways, cultivate their skills, and become more aware of the opportunities that await them after high school.
At the Brocton Central School District, we are committed to ensuring that every student is prepared for the next steps in their academic and career journeys. Our dedicated teachers and counseling staff have joined forces to create a collaborative environment where students can thrive. Throughout this month, the Brocton Central School District will be organizing a series of engaging activities, workshops, and informational sessions aimed at promoting post-secondary readiness.

Mrs. Gomez's and Mrs. Marvin's 5th Graders visited the Buffalo Museum of Science last Thursday as a culminating field trip to their Space Unit! Students participated in a hands-on activity where they learned about constellations that appear during each season. They also got to see what our night sky looked like throughout the year. The day's events also included exploring the museum, and a visit to the rooftop Observatory, where students got to see a 360 degree view of the city of Buffalo. Students had such a great time and appreciate the district giving them this opportunity!

This October middle and high school students taking art had the opportunity to visit the Marion Art Gallery on the campus of SUNY Fredonia to see the exhibit Atlas- Historical Works and Recent Works of Alberto Rey. The exhibit highlighted Rey’s recent travels around the world through paintings, drawings and ceramics. Awarded SUNY Distinguished Professor for Research and Creative Activity, Rey is also an official Orvis Guide and made special visits to the gallery to meet BCS students, take questions and share his personal insights. Barbara Racker, the gallery director, provided each student with a catalog of the exhibit along with lunch at the campus cafe, Cranson Marche. Students also enjoyed visiting the campus bookstore. Visit the following links to see more of his work: https://albertorey.com/ and https://atlasalbertorey.weebly.com/

Today, the Brocton Central School District would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Occupational Therapy team: Mrs. Jessica Swanson, OTD, MS, OTR/L, and Mrs. Cortney Vahl, COTA.
Both of these amazing individuals bring unique skills and a compassionate approach to their work, making a significant impact on the lives of our students every day. Their efforts encourage independence, build confidence, and enhance the overall quality of life for those they serve.
We thank them for the countless hours put into planning, implementing, and adapting interventions to suit the individual needs of our students. Their ability to see the potential in each child and to help them achieve their goals is truly commendable.
Their dedication, passion, and commitment to our students' well-being and success do not go unnoticed. Happy National Occupational Therapist Appreciation Day!

Pre-K students had fun writing their first story together. They carefully painted Haunted Houses to go with their story. They also made picture puzzles. Ms. Sobczyk is proud of how kind and creative they are. Nice work!

6th graders in Mr. Vona's class did a lesson in adding and subtracting using decimals. The students were given $20 in ‘Arnie bucks’. They visited "Arnie's Dog Hut" and ordered off the menu adding their totals, figuring out the tax on the total without going over $20. Then subtracting the total from the $20 to figure out their change. When completed correctly they received an "Arnie treat" from our schools service dog, Arnie. A fun day of learning in 6th grade at BCS!
