Mrs. Gomez's and Mrs. Marvin's 5th Graders started their first week in ELA learning about famous inventors, including the female inventor Stephanie Kwolek, who invented Kevlar. What a perfect opportunity to have our SRO, Officer Rosario, join us for a demonstration on her Kevlar vest and how it helps keep her and other officers safe while on duty. Thank you so much Officer Rosario for helping bring our lessons and learning to life and relevant to our lives!

Exploring the Jurassic with technology!
Mrs. Zappie’s computer students dove into the Jurassic period with a focus on the mighty T-Rex!
As part of their research, students used a digital sound mixing board to create their own interpretations of what a T-Rex roar might have sounded like—drawing inspiration from the roars of modern birds, mammals, and reptiles that scientists believe are related to dinosaurs.
To bring history to life even further, students had the exciting opportunity to see and touch 3D-printed models of dinosaur skulls, teeth, and other fossils.
It was a roaring success!

Today, as we observe Patriots Day, we come together in a spirit of remembrance and gratitude. We honor not only our fallen heroes but also the families who have borne the weight of loss and the scars left behind. As we observe moments of silence and participate in various tributes today, let us pledge to carry their memory in our hearts. We will never forget the sacrifices made for our country, the heroes who fought and continue to fight for our freedoms, and the importance of unity and compassion in our community.
