This week is Computer Science Education Week. Why are we celebrating CSEd Week in December? This week was chosen in honor of Grace Hopper, whose birth anniversary is on December 9. She was a pioneer in the field of computer science. During this week, elementary classrooms are participating in various computer science lessons with robots. Today we are showcasing the fifth grade, who learned to program Sphero Bolt robots to travel a Gingerbread Man themed maze that they built with Makerspace materials. This project required not only coding and problem solving, but also Math skills such as metric measurement, data analysis, angles, and elapsed time.
