Yesterday evening, October 8th, an Annual Social was held before the Board of Education meeting to honor new employees of the Brocton Central School District, their mentors, employees who have transitioned into new roles, our ex officio student board member, and our most recently tenured employees.
This event provided an opportunity for these individuals to meet the Board of Education and Administration while enjoying delicious desserts prepared by Mrs. Lisa Brisley (see group photo).
During the Board of Education meeting, Mr. Delcamp recognized several outstanding students. Mr. Delcamp recognized Chloe N., September Middle School Student of the Month (not pictured), Yael A., September High School Student of the Month (pictured), Lila D., October Middle School Student of the Month (pictured), and Anthony G., October High School Student of the Month (pictured).
Mr. Delcamp and Mr. Mead-Colegrove also recognized Mrs. Jodi Huber as the September Employee of the Month (pictured) and Mrs. Rose Carr as the October Employee of the Month (pictured).
In addition, Mr. Kurt Gustafson, Ambassador for the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA), was present to award the 2025 Champions of Change Award to the Board of Education, Administration, and Judy Wroda from the Southwestern Independent Living Center (SILC). The Brocton Central School District is being honored for hosting the “Together We Can” symposium on March 15, 2025 (pictured).
Congratulations to all of these remarkable individuals — We are Brocton Strong!

Today is World Teachers Day, and the Brocton Central School District would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the incredible dedication, passion, and hard work that each of our teachers brings to their classroom.
Their unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds, fostering creativity, and inspiring curiosity does not go unnoticed. Whether they are introducing lifelong learning habits through engaging lessons, offering encouragement through challenges, or providing a safe space where students can express themselves, their influence is immeasurable. Each day, they not only educate but also empower, guiding students to dream big and aspire to greatness.
The resilience our teachers exhibit in overcoming obstacles and adapting to the ever-changing educational landscape is truly commendable. Their ability to innovate and support our students' diverse needs makes them the backbone of our community.
As we celebrate World Teachers Day, let us all take a moment to express our appreciation to the teachers who have made a difference in our lives—whether they are in our school today or from our past.
Thank you, teachers, for your passion, your perseverance, and your profound impact on our students and the Brocton/Portland community. We are Brocton Strong!
