Pre-K students had fun writing their first story together. They carefully painted Haunted Houses to go with their story. They also made picture puzzles. Ms. Sobczyk is proud of how kind and creative they are. Nice work!
6th graders in Mr. Vona's class did a lesson in adding and subtracting using decimals. The students were given $20 in ‘Arnie bucks’. They visited "Arnie's Dog Hut" and ordered off the menu adding their totals, figuring out the tax on the total without going over $20. Then subtracting the total from the $20 to figure out their change. When completed correctly they received an "Arnie treat" from our schools service dog, Arnie. A fun day of learning in 6th grade at BCS!
The Brocton Central School District is proud to announce that Superintendent Mr. Jason Delcamp has been selected as the 2025 New York State Administrator of the Year by the New York State Association of Educational Office Professionals (NYSAEOP). The award was announced on October 20, 2025, during the organization’s 73rd Annual Conference held in Auburn, NY.
Although Mr. Delcamp was unable to attend the banquet, Mrs. Cynthia Marx, CEOE, graciously accepted the award on his behalf and read his letter of acknowledgment to attendees. In his message, Mr. Delcamp expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and appreciation of the many individuals who have supported him throughout his career.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be nominated and considered for such a prestigious award,” he shared. “Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by people who saw more in me than I often saw in myself. Their belief in me has shaped who I am as a leader.”
Mr. Delcamp also highlighted the vital role of secretarial and administrative professionals in education, noting that they are “the heartbeat of every successful school district.” He credited their professionalism, care, and dedication for helping schools thrive and shared that this award “truly belongs to them.”

Each year, schools and communities across the country come together to remind everyone the importance of school bus safety. From practicing safe riding habits to staying alert around bus stops and school zones. Every one of these actions help to protect our children.

STEM Lab News
STEM Club began today. An important part of STEM Club is working on collaboration and teamwork skills. These skills are important for STEM, especially when we compete at STEM Wars in the spring. To start the new year, we had a paper tower team challenge. Teams had 15 minutes to build a tower out of 20 sheets of paper using only scissors and tape. The tallest tower measured more than 5 feet tall!
You trash is our treasure: The STEM Lab is in need of regular to large size cereal boxes or other boxes of similar size (long but not too deep such as shallow Amazon/shipping boxes or other snack/cracker boxes). If you have any, please send to school with your child. Thank you!

Person Centered Services is hosting a free virtual webinar on 10/28/25 for Health Home Care Coordination for families/caregivers of individuals with disabilities ages 5-22
The seniors will be hosting an Adult and Me Dance on November 1st! Check it out and support them and all their upcoming endeavors. It is sure to be a great time! You do not need to be a Brocton student to attend! $10 per person at the door.

There will be a hat/pj day organized by the BCS student government on Friday, October 24th for all students. The suggested donation is $1 to wear a hat or pjs. All money raised will be given to two local animal shelters in memory of retired technology teacher Mr. Ken Kowal.
This Friday we will be honoring our 7 graduating seniors in a home volleyball game against Salamanca. JV starts at 5 with Varsity at 6:30. Please come support the teams.
At Brocton Elementary, we integrate literacy in all that we do. This week, first graders listened to the story Leaf Man and built vocabulary and comprehension skills during the interactive read aloud. After the story, they explored the different traits of fall leaves and practiced following directions while completing a STEM challenge to build a Leaf Man that doesn't blow away like the Leaf Man in the story. 🍂
