static electricity flying ghost

Elementary students participated in Halloween and Dia de los Muertos themed STEM challenges in October.   Different classes had different challenges, which included engineering pumpkin catapults, spider web bridge, a device that uses force to move a pumpkin.  SOme classes made ghosts "fly" using static electricity and magnetism, line coded robots to virtually trick or treat, or build parallel circuit to make sugar skulls with light up eyes.   Our youngest students practiced number and letter identification skills in a game that also required them collect pieces to build a "haunted house" for  Mickey Mouse (dressed as a ghost for Halloween).
